Chris Smith approached us to redesign his current online shopping website, primarliy because he had no control over content and retail pricing of his website. Chris's primary aim was to achieve an online shopping website that allowed as much functionality and easy of use from his new website as possible, but retain the ability to monitor product popularity as well as customer activity. Also high on his priorities was the navigation that clients would see, because the site had to be easy for customers as well as the administrator.
We achieved all of this and more with the aid of a complete customised shopping website, allowing full stock control, discounts and sales.
To the right is a screen shot of the category listing's. All the pages are generated dynamically from the stock that is recorded. There is a random generator that scrolls through the last 30 items that are added to the stock and displays one item in a "whats new" area. On the home page of the website, there is a area entitled "new products for xxx month, which will display a list of the latest 6 products that have been added to stock. To the right of the stock listing is a "review" and "top sellers" area. These area's are also controlled by the admin section. There is virtually no owner interaction for any of the "working" parts of the website, Chris's only task now is to monitor the stock and orders and ensure that his customer's are happy. His website is now totally self running.
